S18 A russet nephrite jade “Favorite” snuff bottle

Description

Description:  Chinese russet nephrite jade snuff bottle of slightly flat, ovoid form. The reason for calling this bottle “Favorite” is that actually it is one of the more treasured snuff bottles of the collection. Reasons are: the quality of the material, the nicely shaped base, the very narrow mouth hole (5.3 mm diameter), the exceptional hollowing despite the narrow mouth, the apparent simplicity, the age, the tactile feeling.

Stopper:  Coral stopper with green glass collar and bamboo spoon.
