Description
Description: Chinese snuff bottle of fruit form, carved with fine, regular alternate ribs and lobes all around. The quality of this bottle is superb, including the smoothed inside, the constant shaping of ribs and lobes, the type of pure white, flawlessy nephrite jade. Although not being ourselves real experts about jades, we believe that this should be of the famous “mutton fat” type, at least by the scarcely precise descriptions that can be found. By direct handling, this bottle stands out immediately as an exceptional one; it is a real pleasure to see and handle. We truly believe it to be a Palace workshop bottle, Qianlong period. The last picture, showing the bottle with inside lighting, gives an idea of the quality of the jade.
