Description
Description: Chinese white jade snuff bottle shaped as a magnolia bud, with the calyx of spinach green jade. It is a highly uncommon one; all the bottles with this shape that we have found are much common and actually representing an eggplant. Besides our one, we have only found another magnolia bud one, which was sold by an auction house, see penultimate picture. Compared to that one, our bottle is off pure white, not russet jade, and the petals are much well molded, not so flat. The last picture is showing an eggplant bottle sold by Bonhams, which is here for dating purposes.
