Description
Description: Chinese porcelain snuff bottle decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with two standing figures facing ear other and an approaching boat. There is the following two lines inscription:
相顾清淡客，無情送远舟
Which translation is not well clear, as it sounds like “Exchanging glances with a guest of quiet grace, heartlessly watching the distant boat depart”. On all the possible interpretations, the boat departure is always mentioned, while in the scene the boat is arriving (hence, the name given to the bottle). It is an old bottle which neck is restored with a metal fitting.
