Description:  Chinese glass snuff bottle imitating a pebble of celadon and russet jade.

Foot/base:  Very small flat base

Mark:  No marks

Dating:  18th century, probably Imperial, Palace Workshops, Beijing

Material:  Glass.

Size:  52 mm long

Stopper:  Coral branch with black glass collar and stained wood spoon

Provenance:  Ex Carlo Cottarelli Collection, Milano, Italy. Bought directly from him.

Notes:  Chinese glass makers were masters in imitating other materials with glass. This is a perfect example. Jade experts judged this bottle as being authentic jade, which makes it a real masterpiece, like the bottle G8. At the minuscule flat base the typical swirls of blown glasses can be seen.
