O32 A lacquered horn “Double gourd” snuff bottle

Description

Description:  Chinese horn snuff bottle shaped as double gourd. The bottle is particularly smooth and shining, thus much probably lacquered. There is an incised set of ruyis at the upper part and an inserted ivory disc with an incised and etched Shanshui landscape (Shan=mountain and shui=water) on one side and incised characters on the other side.

Stopper:  Horn stopper shaped as the stem of the gourd, and bone spoon
