S1 A moss agate “Master” snuff bottle

Description

Description:  Chinese moss agate snuff bottle of rounded, big size. It is possible that bottles of this size were meant as “Master”, tables bottles from which the snuff were distributed to the personal bottles. This bottle is exceptionally well hollowed.

Foot/base:  Slightly protruded foot and flat base

Mark:

Dating:  19^th Century.

Material:  Moss agate.

Size:  76 mm high

Stopper:  Coral stopper with jade collar and ivory spoon.

By lightening the bottle from the inside, the last two pictures are showing the mineral structure, from which belongs the name of this stone.
