Description
Description: Chinese lapis lazuli snuff bottle of eggplant shape. As seen in the pictures, this bottle is cracked. Nevertheless, we are treasuring it because of the exceptional quality of the stone, the superb hollowing and the small size. The sone has an intense, vivid, and uniform blue, spotted in sides with gold color flecks and with a big grey/whitish spot. Normally, the color of lapis lazuli is not uniform. Thanks to the damage, it is possible to appreciate the very accurate hollowing. In points, the thickness of the bottle is only 0.5 millimeters, i.e. one fiftieth of inch (see last two pictures).
