Description: Chinese Tang dynasty white bowl of good size, almost conical shape, with five indentations on the slightly everted rim. Most probably Xing ware.
Dating: Tang dynasty.

Notes: Xing ware or Xingyao (邢窯), made in Hebei, are considered among the first white ceramics in Chinese history. The body was high fired, resulting first in porcelaneous body, and then becoming true porcelain toward the end of the production during Song dynasty, when it was supplanted by Ding ware.
