Description:   Chinese blue and white rouleau vase decorated with an animated scene of three mythical beasts (Xiexie), one of them being flying, and two hawks, over many rocks emerging from troubled waters. One of the hawks is perched on a rock, which symbolizes a lonely hero.  This magnificent vase has been found in the shown conditions, missing the neck and transformed into a lamp. Worth to keep anyway due to the exceptional decoration.

Dating:  18th century, Kangxi period, Qing dynasty.

Size:  36 cm high

Provenance:  Antiquarian market
