Description:  Chinese red jasper small snuff bottle of cylindrical form. This bottle is absolutely charming. Its accurate shaping and finishing of every small detail, including the inside, do not go unnoticed even by an inexperienced eye. Its high taste and high quality are pointing toward an Imperial workshop manufacture.

Material:  Dark red Jasper with inclusions of semitransparent opaline silica

Size: 37 mm high

Stopper:  Goldstone stopper embraced in a brass ring and stained ivory spoon

Provenance:  Antiquarian market

References:  A 18th century plain nephrite jade of similar small size and identical raised foot rim and neck, attributed to the Imperial workshop, is in the collection of Joseph Baruch Silver
