S17 A botryoidal agate flat snuff bottle

Description

Description:  Chinese botryoidal agate snuff bottle of very flat, round form. The hollowing of this bottle is purposely limited to the central area, in order to keep the visual effect of the botryoidal structure, which would disappear if the walls of the bottle were too thin.

Foot/base:  Very small oval concave base

Mark:  

Dating:  19^th Century.

Material:  Botryoidal agate

Size:  63 mm high

Stopper:  Coral stopper with bronze collar and bone spoon.
