Description:   Chinese porcelain bowl decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a water buffalo at the bottom and four galloping animals on the outside, being two of them water buffalos and the other two not exactly identified; they look like antelopes but it is just a vague resemblance. The Carabao or water buffalo is a symbol of the coming of spring and abundance as well as fertility for the coming year.

Dating:  16th century, Jiajing, Ming dynasty.

Size:  12 cm diameter
